Why UP exists

Turning 18 should not mean facing the world alone.

Unlimited Potential supports former foster youth through individualized independence plans. Together, participants and staff build a clear path toward educational and work goals, housing stability, supportive living environments, and the community resources needed for long-term success.

UP exists to be a refuge, a home base, and a network of consistent support as young adults learn, grow, and build confidence in what comes next.

How we help

Practical support for real-life independence.

Every participant’s plan is individualized. Support is built around the goals and barriers in front of that young adult—not a one-size-fits-all checklist.

Housing Stability

Support with housing options, including HUD FYI housing and UP’s residential cottages, so young adults have a safer foundation while working toward independence.

Individualized Case Management

A step-by-step independence plan helps each participant identify goals, available supports, and the next actions needed to move forward.

Life Skills Training

Hands-on skills for adulthood, including cooking, home care, resumes, interviewing, personal empowerment, employability, and more.

Career Development

Support focused on employment goals, job readiness, and the practical steps participants need to move toward sustainable work.

Education Support

Individualized support toward educational goals and connections to resources that can help participants continue learning and training.

Counseling

Professional mental-health support can help participants process hardship, build clarity, and move into adulthood with stronger tools for well-being.

Transportation

Limited transportation support helps participants reach important destinations such as employment, interviews, education, and health services.

A home base for the transition

Housing is more than a roof. It is room to build what comes next.

Since 2019, Unlimited Potential has been a certified HUD pass-through agency working with local housing resources to help eligible young adults access Foster Youth to Independence housing.

UP has also built two HUD-approved residential cottages with space for up to 10 single adults. Whether participants live with UP or on their own, they receive individualized support designed to help them move toward stability and self-sufficiency.

The UP approach

Participants—not clients.

UP intentionally calls the young adults in its programs participants. Independence is something built with them, not handed to them.

Build an individualized independence plan.
Participant and staff identify goals, barriers, resources, and the support UP can provide.

Connect the right supports.
Housing, counseling, transportation, education, career development, life skills, and community resources are coordinated around the plan.

Work toward lasting independence.
The participant takes an active role in reaching goals while UP provides consistent, informed support along the way.
